This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Reporting to the Senior Revenue Manager of PRMO, the revenue manager oversees activities conducted by staff responsible for charge capture, coding, charge entry, insurance follow-up, reimbursement analysis, and other PRMO functions within the designated clinical area.
• Evaluate performance for personnel responsible for appointment scheduling, registration, clinic check-in, and clinic collections.
• Create and utilize reports to monitor financial and operational performance throughout the entire revenue cycle for the assigned clinical area.
• Assess and suggest modifications/updates to the department's charge master(s) to ensure fees are set at levels that optimize reimbursement.
• Review and recommend adjustments to the department's charge capture documents to ensure precise and comprehensive billing in accordance with annual CPT/HCPCS and ICD-10 updates.
• Detect revenue cycle issues, investigate/analyze data to resolve problems, identify and select alternatives to address ongoing concerns, and implement solutions for enhancement.
• Collaborate with financial analysts, physicians, and administrative leadership to educate and train providers and staff regarding coding and other pertinent revenue cycle matters.
• Serve as a liaison to management and staff within the specified clinical area, Patient Revenue Management Organization (PRMO); Duke University Health System (DUHS); Duke Health Integrated Practice; and third-party payers concerning revenue cycle activities in assigned domains.
• Consistently research, monitor, provide education, and implement payer regulations and guidelines related to revenue management activities in the assigned clinical area.
• A Bachelor’s degree is required.
• A Master’s degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 6+ years of relevant Healthcare experience, ideally in Charge Integrity/Revenue Management, is necessary.
• Coding certification (e.g., CCS, CPC, RHIA, RHIT), HFMA CHFP (Certified Healthcare Professional), CRCR (Certified Revenue Cycle Representative), or BSN RN is preferred.
• Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to lead, motivate, and collaborate effectively with Hospital leadership.
• Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
• Outstanding problem-solving, analytical, and technical troubleshooting capabilities.
• Strong prioritization skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Flexibility to work on a varied schedule.
• Proficient research and documentation skills.
• Ability to work autonomously.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Word, Visio, and Outlook.
