Facility Condition Advisor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +9 more states.

📋 Description

• Perform facility condition assessments in accordance with ASTM E2018-24 standards.

• Oversee document reviews, stakeholder interviews, walk-through surveys, and the preparation of cost opinions.

• Assess architectural, civil, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing building systems visually.

• Record deficiencies categorized as immediate, short-term, or long-term remediation needs.

• Create facility condition reports that include actionable recommendations for capital planning and asset management.

• Utilize VFA facility (Gordian), Corrigo, and other assessment tools to document findings and produce deliverables.

• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary assessment teams during project mobilization and execution.

• Travel to client locations, up to 75% and sometimes 100%, navigating challenging environments through climbing, crawling, and extensive walking.

• Stay informed about commercial construction codes and their applicability to existing facilities.

• Provide clients with insights that support asset value, operational efficiency, and long-term infrastructure investment decisions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.

• Candidates without a degree must have at least 10 years of relevant professional experience.

• Minimum of 8 years of experience conducting facility condition assessments in compliance with ASTM E2018-24 standards, serving as an alternative to the degree/experience requirement.

• Experience in assessing healthcare facilities, public sector clients, developers, or institutional investors.

• Knowledge of VFA facility software (Gordian), Corrigo, or comparable facility management platforms.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical findings to varied audiences.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

• Experience with preventative maintenance planning, risk assessments, or asset tagging methodologies.

• Professional certifications in architecture, engineering, or facility management fields.

• Strong understanding of engineering and architectural design standards, practices, and techniques.

• Familiarity with commercial construction codes and experience in project definition, planning, and management.

• Valid REAL ID driver's license with no significant points or violations on driving record.

• Must be a US citizen.
