This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Oversee daily facility requirements for a designated portfolio comprising roughly 40–50 locations while managing approximately 150–200 active work orders.
• Handle repair and maintenance requests via Flow Path (CMMS) from initiation to completion.
• Assess and prioritize service requests based on urgency, life safety, animal welfare, business continuity, operational impact, and financial risk.
• Coordinate troubleshooting efforts, vendor dispatch, estimates, approvals, scheduling, repairs, and follow-ups.
• Provide remote troubleshooting assistance to non-technical center teams.
• Manage aging, delayed, or stalled work orders while ensuring proper documentation is maintained.
• Review leases to clarify repair and maintenance responsibilities.
• Source, assess, onboard, and coordinate with local, regional, and national service providers.
• Gather and compare estimates, evaluate suggested repairs, negotiate pricing and scope, and review invoices.
• Assist with small to mid-scale repair, maintenance, and capital projects.
• Develop scopes of work, coordinate necessary approvals, and monitor project schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
• Address urgent and emergency facility issues and liaise with emergency service providers.
• Support preventive maintenance programs, recurring services, inspections, and compliance efforts.
• Identify persistent equipment failures and propose corrective actions, replacements, or long-term planning strategies.
• Collaborate with center, field, finance, legal, safety, operations, and other internal stakeholders.
• Provide facility guidance and training for Center Managers and field leaders.
• Direct in-house maintenance technicians as necessary.
• Assist with facility assessments, acquisitions, transitions, renovations, special projects, and company initiatives.
• Escalate significant facility risks, recurring issues, major expenditures, and unresolved accountability questions.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in facilities management, property management, construction, maintenance operations, vendor management, or a related field.
• Proven experience managing a high-volume, multi-site facilities workload with simultaneous repairs, vendors, and competing priorities.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Basic knowledge of commercial leases and repair and maintenance responsibility clauses.
• Familiarity with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, flooring, doors, fencing, drainage, and fire/life-safety systems.
• Experience in reviewing repair proposals, vendor suggestions, estimates, and invoices.
• Excellent problem-solving, critical-thinking, written, and verbal communication abilities.
• Capacity to make informed decisions with incomplete information and recognize when escalation or additional expertise is necessary.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CMMS, purchasing, and other business systems.
• Preferred: experience supporting geographically dispersed, multi-site portfolios.
• Preferred: background in pet care, veterinary, hospitality, retail, healthcare, property management, or other operationally intensive environments.
• Preferred: experience in reviewing commercial leases, vendor contracts, service agreements, or capital project documentation.
• Preferred: knowledge of preventive maintenance, capital expenditure planning, and emergency facility response.
• Preferred: experience supervising maintenance technicians or field service personnel.
• Preferred: working knowledge of construction terminology, building systems, and basic code or life-safety regulations.
• May involve coordinating work across multiple states and time zones.
• Some travel may be necessary.
