Experienced Critical Power Field Technician – UPS Field Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Conduct preventive maintenance, inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and repairs on UPS systems, battery plants, DC power systems, PDUs, STS units, inverters, and other critical power equipment.

• Identify electrical and control system issues utilizing schematics, testing equipment, manufacturer documentation, and industry best practices.

• Install, commission, and replace UPS systems, battery strings, battery monitoring systems, maintenance bypass equipment, and related power infrastructure.

• Address emergency service calls and restore customer systems to operational condition while adhering to the highest safety and quality standards.

• Accurately and professionally complete service reports, maintenance documentation, and customer communications.

• Foster strong customer relationships through technical expertise, promptness, and exceptional service delivery.

• Guide junior technicians and aid field training initiatives by sharing troubleshooting techniques, safety practices, and technical knowledge.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 3+ years of practical experience servicing UPS systems, battery systems, DC power equipment, generators, switchgear, data center infrastructure, or other critical electrical infrastructure.

• Experience with equipment from manufacturers such as Eaton, Vertiv/Liebert, Schneider Electric/APC, Mitsubishi, Toshiba, ABB, or similar critical power platforms is highly preferred.

• Solid understanding of AC and DC electrical theory, power distribution systems, and battery technologies.

• Capability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.

• Proficient in using multimeters, power quality analyzers, battery testing equipment, and other diagnostic tools.

• Proven ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical and electronic system failures.

• Valid driver's license and readiness to travel within the designated service area, including occasional overnight travel as necessary.
