• Develops and enhances a comprehensive global advocacy and strategic engagement plan that aligns with ISC2’s organizational goals.
• Acts as a catalyst for the identification and prioritization of critical issues, positions, and strategies that relate to the organization's objectives and enterprise priorities.
• Promotes the growth and strategic standing of ISC2 by establishing and nurturing effective formal and informal connections with major stakeholders, including relevant government departments and agencies, significant employers, key industry leaders, academic institutions, nonprofit and NGO decision-makers, chapter leaders and members, and other influential thought leaders and stakeholders.
• Serves as an ISC2 ambassador, facilitating the exchange of knowledge and perspectives to ensure ISC2 maintains a diverse range of relationships, support, and initiatives to achieve its goals.
• Shapes ISC2’s perspective and public stance on topics such as cybersecurity workforce development, AI governance, digital trust, certification and skill pathways, and the future of the profession.
• Leads the establishment of strategic partnerships that enhance ISC2’s influence, reach, and effectiveness in fulfilling its mission on a global scale.
• Aids in positioning ISC2 as a principal facilitator on issues at the convergence of cyber workforce, AI, and digital trust.
• Supports ISC2’s initiatives to explore new markets with a focus on expanding footprint, impact, engagement, and the provision of suitable programs and global operations.
• Offers strategic advice and guidance to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team, keeping them informed about opportunities and developments in public policy, industry, academia, standards, and the global cybersecurity landscape.
• Advises on emerging topics such as AI security, digital trust, cyber workforce resilience, standards, and related global technology governance matters.
• Assists the CEO in interactions with the Board of Directors and external stakeholders concerning the portfolio and the refinement of ISC2’s long-term strategy.
• Represents ISC2 with integrity in high-level forums, coalitions, public discussions, and major industry events.
• Implements precise and disciplined operating protocols, including well-defined targets, KPIs, and accountability across the function.
• Prepares, secures approval for, and oversees the execution of the annual portfolio budget to ensure financial objectives are achieved.
• Builds a diverse, inclusive, high-performing, and accountable team of employees and consultants essential for accomplishing ISC2’s mission and objectives.
• Participates as a member of the Executive Leadership Team, championing ISC2’s employee culture, leading by example, and dedicating efforts to develop future employee leaders.
• Undertakes additional responsibilities as assigned.
• Proven success in leading external engagement, strategic partnerships, advocacy, public policy, technology policy, digital trust, cybersecurity, or similar functions.
• Strong credibility in the domains of cybersecurity, AI, digital trust, workforce, public policy, and institutional strategy.
• Experience engaging with senior leaders across government, industry, academia, nonprofit, and multistakeholder settings.
• Preferred experience in shaping thought leadership, public positioning, convenings, or cross-sector initiatives.
• Exceptional interpersonal, networking, and stakeholder management abilities, with a focus on verbal communication and engagement with a diverse range of individuals.
• Familiarity with global cybersecurity public policy matters, standards, legal and regulatory frameworks, and professional trends is preferred.
• Experience in a global nonprofit, professional organization, technology firm, advisory firm, or similarly complex institution is preferred.
• Strong computer and technical proficiency, including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), internet, and web applications.
• Familiarity with ISC2 credentials or direct involvement in the cybersecurity profession is a plus.
