This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Develop and implement a long-term growth strategy to ensure RAPID's sustainability, industry relevance, and lasting impact beyond current funding cycles.
• Act as the primary external ambassador for RAPID, fostering relationships with senior leaders in industry, government, academia, and the Manufacturing USA network.
• Identify and secure new funding opportunities, strategic partnerships, sponsorships, and revenue-generating initiatives to support RAPID's mission and expansion.
• Provide visionary leadership to establish RAPID as the national leader in process intensification, advanced manufacturing innovation, and related workforce development initiatives.
• Collaborate with the RAPID Governing Board and Executive Committee to set strategic priorities, assess organizational performance, and guide long-term decision-making.
• Drive organizational growth and transformation efforts, ensuring RAPID possesses the structure, talent, and capabilities needed to meet its strategic objectives while promoting a culture of respect, integrity, and collaboration.
• Monitor emerging trends in manufacturing, energy, technology, and federal policy to proactively identify opportunities, risks, and competitive advantages for RAPID and its stakeholders.
• Establish key performance indicators and success metrics related to financial performance, membership growth, project impact, stakeholder engagement, and organizational effectiveness.
• Ensure that new projects and ongoing activities align with RAPID’s strategic plan and long-term vision.
• Collaborate with AIChE leadership to ensure consistency in strategy and practices between AIChE and RAPID.
• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or a related field is required, with an MS or PhD preferred.
• Proven track record in growing a small company or business unit by creating stakeholder value and effectively managing a highly skilled team.
• Experience managing large project teams, business units, or operating a small business.
• Organized and strategic thinker capable of progressing from ideation to execution.
• Ability to translate broad objectives into actionable steps, anticipate and resolve issues, and seize opportunities.
• Capability to inspire and empower others to work towards a common vision.
• Collaborative mindset.
• Openness to listen to the views and perspectives of others.
• Knowledge of and experience with the Department of Energy and the Manufacturing USA Institutes.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
