Executive Director, Human Resources – Managed Venues

πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Act as the main HR partner for venue leadership teams, including General Managers, Regional Leaders, and Operations Executives.

β€’ Align HR strategies with business goals across various venues.

β€’ Assist in workforce planning for seasonal, event-driven, and high-volume staffing scenarios.

β€’ Provide insights on organizational structure, staffing frameworks, and labor optimization.

β€’ Support geographically dispersed teams across arenas, stadiums, and theaters.

β€’ Collaborate with local HR and operations teams to ensure uniform implementation of HR programs and policies.

β€’ Aid in large-scale, event-based, and seasonal recruitment initiatives.

β€’ Advise on complex employee relations matters, investigations, performance management, and corrective actions.

β€’ Collaborate with labor relations teams and leadership in union settings when applicable.

β€’ Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local labor regulations across various jurisdictions.

β€’ Assist in organizational transformations, restructures, business transitions, acquisitions, and integrations.

β€’ Promote engagement, retention, leadership development, and employee experience strategies.

β€’ Lead talent assessments, succession planning, development initiatives, performance management, and leadership coaching.

β€’ Execute supervisory duties, including interviewing, hiring, training, assigning work, evaluating performance, rewarding, disciplining, and resolving complaints and issues.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ Over 7 years of progressive HR experience, with substantial expertise in supporting multi-site or operational settings.

β€’ Preferred experience in hospitality, sports & entertainment, retail, or other high-volume workforce sectors.

β€’ Experience in unionized environments is an advantage.

β€’ Demonstrated experience in supporting large, distributed workforces.

β€’ A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required.

β€’ Strong capability to influence and collaborate with operational leaders in dynamic environments.

β€’ Extensive experience in employee relations, workforce planning, and organizational design.

β€’ Ability to merge strategic thinking with practical execution.

β€’ Proven experience managing competing priorities across multiple sites.

β€’ Solid business acumen and understanding of operational drivers.

β€’ Comfortable in environments with high variability, shifting priorities, and non-traditional schedules (nights/weekends/events).

β€’ Knowledge of California employment laws.
