This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Oversee the assessment and implementation of M&A, in-licensing, strategic collaborations, partnerships, investments, and other transactions that enhance the portfolio.
• Manage the entire deal lifecycle, including evaluation, business case formulation, valuation, due diligence, deal structuring, term sheet negotiation, and closing.
• Create transaction strategies and deal structures that balance opportunities, risks, capital needs, and value generation.
• Collaborate with Legal and functional leaders to negotiate term sheets and final agreements.
• Lead cross-functional due diligence teams, synthesizing findings and risks for senior management.
• Prepare and deliver transaction recommendations and analyses to senior leadership and, if necessary, the Board of Directors.
• Lead or assist with out-licensing, regional partnerships, divestitures, and other externalization efforts.
• Contribute to corporate strategy, identify growth opportunities, analyze value drivers, and support strategic decision-making.
• Maintain connections with potential collaborators, investment banks, and strategic consulting partners.
• Represent Travere at industry and partnership events and conferences.
• Mentor members of the Corporate Development team and enhance corporate development capabilities and processes.
• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific, business, or related field is required.
• 12–15+ years of experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical sectors, with a focus on corporate/business development, search and evaluation, investment banking, management consulting, venture capital, or a similar area.
• Proven experience in leading and successfully closing intricate biopharma transactions from initial evaluation through diligence, negotiation, and execution.
• In-depth understanding of drug development, commercialization, regulatory issues, intellectual property, and pharmaceutical development economics.
• Strong financial and analytical skills, including valuation methods, financial modeling, commercial forecasts, rNPV/DCF analysis, and transaction economics.
• Demonstrated capability in leading cross-functional teams.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation abilities.
• Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior stakeholders without having direct authority.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.
• An advanced degree such as an MBA, PhD, MD, or another relevant graduate degree is highly preferred.
