This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Lead, mentor, and cultivate a multi-tiered organization comprising Directors, senior managers, and Epic analysts across all application domains.
• Define the organizational structure, staffing strategy, and capability roadmap for the enterprise Epic function.
• Make decisions regarding build-vs-buy and internal-vs-partner staffing options.
• Oversee performance management, career development, and organizational culture within the Epic organization.
• Contribute to the enterprise technology strategy as part of the senior IT/clinical informatics leadership team.
• Hold enterprise-wide accountability for Epic build activities, architecture standards, and technical governance.
• Direct, design, and manage the delivery of large-scale, highly visible, cross-functional, interdependent enterprise projects.
• Establish and enhance strategic technology alignment, build standards, testing protocols, and change control processes across the Epic portfolio.
• Supervise system upgrades, module implementations, and integration initiatives.
• Act as the senior executive point of contact and trusted advisor for Epic IT initiatives.
• Foster strategic relationships with physician executives, operational leadership, and business partners across clinical and operational sectors.
• Translate enterprise business and clinical requirements into technology strategy and prioritized roadmaps.
• Present portfolio status, risk assessments, and outcomes to executive leadership, governance committees, and the board.
• Serve as the escalation point for critical issues, system outages, and inter-team conflicts related to Epic.
• Facilitate root cause analysis and sustainable solutions for high-impact problems.
• Identify enterprise risks and guide portfolio-level mitigation strategies.
• Formulate strategies to streamline workflows, reduce technical debt, and modernize the Epic technology stack.
• Evaluate Epic roadmap releases, industry trends, automation, interoperability, and AI-enabled workflows.
• Advocate for standardization, best practices, and platform maturity across Epic applications and business lines.
• Report to the Chief Health Informatics Officer and manage Directors, senior managers, and Epic analysts.
• 15+ years of progressive experience with EHR/Epic, including considerable time in Epic build, design, and senior/executive leadership positions.
• Proven experience leading multi-tiered organizations, encompassing Directors and senior managers, within a large, matrixed healthcare IT setting.
• Extensive hands-on knowledge of Epic applications across Acute Care, Ambulatory/Primary Care, Pharmacy (Willow), and Behavioral Health (Beacon or equivalent) from a technology/build perspective.
• Experience supporting ACO, value-based care, or population health technology initiatives at an enterprise level.
• Demonstrated success in owning large, cross-functional, highly visible programs with multiple interdependencies and enterprise-level risk.
• Strong executive presence with a demonstrated ability to present to and influence C-suite, board, and physician executive stakeholders.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and experience acting as the ultimate escalation point for critical, high-pressure, enterprise-level issues.
• Epic certifications in one or more relevant modules.
• Experience leading Epic upgrades, optimization initiatives, or major go-lives as an executive sponsor or accountable senior leader.
• Familiarity with interoperability standards, population health tools, and healthcare regulatory requirements (HIPAA, MU/Promoting Interoperability, etc.).
• Preferred: Experience representing an organization at Epic's Global User Conference (UGM/XGM) or similar industry forums.
