Executive Benefits Regional Vice President – Western US

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Propel premium growth and enhance market presence for John Hancock’s Executive Benefits solutions throughout the Western U.S. region.

• Formulate and implement a strategic business plan that emphasizes new distribution relationships, leverages current partnerships, and targets complex sales opportunities.

• Meet or surpass premium, pipeline, and territory performance objectives.

• Establish, grow, and strengthen connections with Executive Benefits advisors, firms, and distribution partners.

• Discover, source, and nurture new distribution channels and production opportunities.

• Position COLI, deferred compensation, and Vitality-enabled CSIO offerings effectively.

• Collaborate with advisors on executive retention, wealth accumulation, and supplemental retirement strategies.

• Present in-market presentations and provide thought leadership.

• Utilize competitive intelligence and market insights to enhance sales positioning and improve win rates.

• Work alongside Advanced Markets, National Accounts, Product, and Underwriting teams.

• Offer feedback to guide product development, pricing, and management of in-force improvements.

• Ensure that sales activities adhere to regulatory standards and internal policies.

• Sustain and expand existing distribution-partner business.

• Represent John Hancock as a subject matter expert in Executive Benefits and a trusted partner.

• Promote awareness and adoption of Vitality-enabled offerings.

• Lead consultative sales discussions and assist in the development and closing of complex cases.

• Oversee sales activity, pipeline, and performance metrics utilizing CRM tools such as Salesforce.

• Collaborate with colleagues to share market intelligence, client insights, and best practices.

• Travel within the designated territory for advisor engagement and business development.

• Manage territory expenses in line with budget expectations.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

• A minimum of 5+ years in life insurance wholesaling, advanced sales, or Executive Benefits experience.

• Alternatively, demonstrated experience in supporting or selling Executive Benefits solutions, including COLI, non-qualified plans, or employer-sponsored strategies.

• Proven success in relationship building, advancing complex cases, and achieving sales goals.

• Strong comprehension of accumulation-focused life insurance products, such as IUL and VUL.

• Knowledge of advanced case design is preferred.

• Possession of FINRA Series 6 & 63 or Series 7 licenses.

• Relevant state life and health licenses, or the ability to obtain them within required timeframes.

• Experience collaborating with carriers, BGAs, or Executive Benefits consulting firms is an advantage.

• Strong customer-centric approach and capability to deliver customized solutions.

• Expertise in business development and sales.

• Proficient in consultative selling and strategic solution positioning.

• Effective relationship management with advisors, firms, and internal stakeholders.

• Strategic thinking and territory planning skills.

• Results-driven with measurable performance outcomes.

• Ability to collaborate across teams and regions.

• Adaptability in dynamic environments.
