This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +3 more states.
• Directs strategic growth initiatives, market development, and engagement activities with executive stakeholders across the U.S. Government, public health, health security, biodefense, and nonprofit sectors.
• Functions as a senior strategic advisor and commercial leader, tasked with enhancing the presence of Thermo Fisher Scientific and PPD within federal agencies, public health entities, academic institutions, industry partners, and NGOs.
• Formulates and implements long-term growth strategies that align with the evolving priorities of government.
• Cultivates executive-level relationships, identifies emerging market opportunities, influences strategic direction, and propels revenue growth through comprehensive enterprise solutions.
• Acts as the primary commercial lead throughout the entire sales lifecycle, from early opportunity detection to proposal development, negotiation, contract award, and transition to operations.
• Collaborates across business units and functional teams to create customer-centric solutions that fulfill client requirements and achieve company growth targets.
• Serves as a trusted advisor to both internal leadership and external stakeholders, offering insights into federal funding, acquisition strategies, public health priorities, and market dynamics.
• Bachelor's degree required; an advanced degree in science, public health, business, or a related field is preferred.
• Over 8 years of experience in business development, strategic planning, government contracting, public health, healthcare, life sciences, or related areas.
• Proven track record of successfully leading complex growth initiatives and fostering executive relationships within the U.S. Government, public health, defense, nonprofit, or similar markets.
• Experience in navigating federal acquisition processes, funding mechanisms, and matrixed organizations.
• Comprehensive understanding of federal healthcare, public health, health security, biodefense, and government markets.
• Proficiency in government acquisition strategy, public-private partnerships, and federal funding environments.
• Strong executive presence, strategic thinking capabilities, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Demonstrated skill in translating complex policies, market conditions, and customer needs into actionable business strategies.
• Exceptional leadership, collaboration, communication, negotiation, and relationship-management abilities.
• Proven success in driving enterprise growth initiatives within highly matrixed organizations.
• Willingness to travel approximately 20%.
