This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• You will take charge of the entire lifecycle of poolside's events, which are categorized into three main types, each with specific objectives:
• - Commercial — events aimed at generating revenue and enhancing the sales pipeline.
• - Activation events — designed to increase mindshare, model usage, and token consumption.
• - Corporate events — all other occasions where poolside must present itself with precision and professionalism.
• Oversee every aspect of the event. From budgeting to booth design, promotional items to audio/visual setup, and on-site operations to the overall schedule, you will transform a blank canvas into memorable events.
• Ensure flawless execution. Every traveling team member relies on you for briefings, schedules, logistics, and preparations.
• Align events with tangible outcomes. Collaborate closely with go-to-market, partnerships, marketing, product, and developer relations teams to connect each event to significant targets.
• Manage the financial narrative. Monitor expenditures, reconcile invoices, and analyze ROI so the business understands what is effective and why.
• Establish standards for partners. Cultivate relationships with agencies, production partners, sponsors, and vendors to facilitate outstanding events.
• Expand poolside’s global reach. As we enhance our presence across various regions, you will develop programming that is effective worldwide.
• Continuously improve each event. Take ownership of KPIs related to reach, engagement, pipeline, and brand elevation.
• A minimum of 5 years in event planning and execution, featuring hands-on experience managing conferences, product launches, or activations for large audiences.
• Located in the US, equipped with the operational expertise to lead intricate, high-stakes events locally, such as AWS re:Invent or NVIDIA GTC.
• Highly detail-oriented: you excel in managing run-of-show documents, vendor relations, A/V coordination, promotional logistics, and traveler preparations.
• Strong commercial awareness: you comprehend how events relate to pipeline, sponsorship value, model adoption, and ROI, and can communicate this effectively.
• A proficient cross-functional collaborator capable of managing external partners and internal stakeholders to high standards.
• Developer empathy: ideally, you understand how to create experiences that resonate with technical audiences—engineers, CTOs, and product leaders—and can collaborate with marketing and our field engineering team to support their vision.
• Operational rigor: a proven track record of delivering complex events on time and within budget, along with effective contingency planning.
• Willingness to travel frequently and adapt to the uncertainties of a fast-paced, early-stage environment.
• Fully remote work and flexible hours
• 37 days per year of vacation and holidays
• Health insurance allowance for you and your dependents
• Company-provided equipment
• Allowances for wellbeing, ongoing learning, and home office setup
• Regular team gatherings
• A diverse and inclusive people-first culture
