EU Spanish Linguist, Translator – Gaming

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Translate in-game text, user interface elements, legally relevant documents, and supporting materials in accordance with client guidelines, First Party terminology, tone, and style.

• Review and revise translations to ensure linguistic accuracy, consistency, and a natural flow.

• Undertake creative translation and localization tasks.

• Create, maintain, and update glossaries, style guides, and character profiles.

• Adhere to project deadlines and productivity goals within the localization pipeline.

• Ensure a consistent tone, voice, and terminology throughout content and game components.

• Collaborate with fellow translators to ensure cohesion and logical flow of content.

• Identify and address localization issues and test bugs.

• Utilize CAT and project management tools such as memoQ, JIRA, and client-specific systems.

• Input, monitor, and respond to localization inquiries.

• Assist in onboarding new translators.

• Support evaluations and updates of candidate tests.

• Work closely with clients on daily language-related matters.

• Adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.

• Ensure compliance with Security, Confidentiality, Health & Safety, IT, HR, ethical standards, ISO, GDPR, and client confidentiality regulations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Exceptional proficiency in both Spanish and English.

• Strong cultural awareness of Spanish markets.

• 1–3 years of experience in translation, localization, or related language services (game localization experience preferred).

• Advanced knowledge of CAT tools such as memoQ, Trados, XTM, and client-specific systems.

• Familiarity with workflow platforms like JIRA and Plunet.

• Excellent linguistic accuracy and attention to detail, with a strong emphasis on consistency.

• Ability to effectively manage independent tasks.

• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

• Flexibility to adapt to feedback and changing project needs.

• Capability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.
