Estimator – Gas Power Generation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the estimating process to guarantee that all proposals comply with technical specifications and RFP requirements.

• Analyze plans, drawings, specifications, vendor proposals, subcontractor quotes, and related documentation to create precise time, cost, and labor estimates.

• Ensure that scope, schedule, and bid pricing are fully aligned and complete.

• Review specifications and drawings to define work responsibilities, required estimate contents, and key project tasks.

• Suggest the most suitable solution from design alternatives based on cost, engineering, quality, or material availability.

• Formulate a project-building and scheduling plan, clearly explaining the utilized methods.

• Prepare a level one schedule and sequencing strategy to ascertain crew size, resources, and productivity.

• Create and distribute RFPs to qualified vendors and subcontractors.

• Assess quotes using comparison metrics to pinpoint commercially and technically responsible bidders.

• Ensure RFPs establish the scope and pricing foundations from suppliers and subcontractors.

• Compute quantity take-offs, material costs, labor expenses, equipment costs, and specialty items.

• Monitor and analyze historical data, including purchase orders, subcontracts, and productivity analysis reports.

• Assemble summary reports and bridging documents to develop guidelines and precedents for future estimates.

⛳️ Requirements

• A four-year degree in Construction, Engineering, or a related field, or a combination of relevant education and experience is required.

• At least two years of progressive experience in the Gas Powered Generation field, or four or more years of practical crew-based estimating experience in other construction sectors.

• Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, purchase orders, contracts, and cost coding systems.

• Strong understanding of construction estimating techniques, cost control, and effective scheduling of purchases and work.

• Expertise in HCSS Heavy Bid and Microsoft Office.

• Familiarity with Salesforce, Oracle, and Sisense.

• Background in Renewable Energy is preferred.
