
ESS Design Engineer – Secret Clearance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.
• Engage in site surveys and collect site-specific information for design and installation activities.
• Assist in the design of electronic security systems and their components from initial concept to final product.
• Create material lists to support design initiatives.
• Participate in regular design reviews.
• Execute PITCO tasks within the engineering facility.
• Utilize manufacturer documentation and technical assistance during the development of solutions.
• Implement controlled documentation, adhere to government standards, and follow application guides and industry best practices.
• Aid in defining scope, specifications, and budget outlines for proposal capture teams.
• Conduct physical installation tasks in atypical environments, including outdoor and elevated locations.
• Install, maintain, and service electronic equipment, such as computers, radar systems, missile control systems, avionics, and communication systems.
• Report directly to the Systems Engineer Lead.
• Support U.S. government initiatives related to electronic security systems.
• High school diploma required.
• 8 years of hands-on experience in the field.
• Must possess a current and active DoD Secret security clearance.
• U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship is required.
• Proficient with computers and role-related technologies, tools, and systems.
• Strong knowledge and/or certification with electronic security manufacturers such as Lenel, AMAG, DMP, Software House, FLIR, Hirsch, MDI, Bosch, Pelco, Genetec, HID, and Axis.
• Familiarity with operating systems commonly used for ACS, IDS, and CCTV systems.
• Experience in the installation, testing, and troubleshooting of electronic security system components and associated hardware.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and effectively plan, organize, and prioritize work.
• Capability to read and interpret project ICD drawings and electrical schematics.
• Active passport for OCONUS travel is required.
• Willingness to travel up to 70% CONUS and OCONUS, including potential overnight stays.
• Preferred: hands-on experience in deploying and testing physical security systems.
• Preferred: 8+ years of experience in the installation of security systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Capacity to perform physical tasks, including lifting, carrying, climbing, and working at heights.
• Ability to work in secure, industrial, hazardous, outdoor, and various weather conditions.
• Compliance with applicable medical, vaccination, and travel requirements for specific assignments.
• Successful completion of a background investigation is required; alcohol and drug screening may be necessary.
