Environmental Scientist 2 – Project Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.

• Collect samples of soil, water, air, and/or building materials.

• Analyze, interpret, and gather data effectively.

• Anticipated distribution of 80% fieldwork and 20% office duties.

• Prepare technical reports.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.

• Over 2 years of experience in environmental field sampling and data collection.

• Familiarity with NJDEP, NYDEC, and/or PADEP regulations.

• Excellent technical writing and communication skills, along with the ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain safety awareness, and possess a solid understanding of safe work practices.

• Proven competence in field procedures.

• Produce data of known quality and maintain appropriate field notes.

• Ability to undergo training on a diverse range of project types successfully.

• Complete tasks promptly and within the budget outlined by the manager.

• 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is preferred.

• Experience in light construction and hands-on skills is a plus.

• Proficiency in data management and report writing.

• A valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and reliable transportation (using a personal vehicle) are required.

• Strong communication abilities.

• Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite.
