Environmental Remediation Engineer, Geologist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Overseeing task and project management, which includes planning and executing investigation and remediation projects, managing budgets, adhering to schedules, ensuring quality, achieving client satisfaction, and maintaining profitability.

• Conducting and supervising contaminated site assessments and remedy evaluations, which involve preparing investigation work plans, feasibility studies, removal action work plans, remedy designs, and implementing remedies.

• Executing and overseeing site assessment fieldwork, as well as pilot and bench-scale programs related to soil, soil vapor, and groundwater technologies.

• Developing remediation action plans for soil, soil vapor, and groundwater remediation initiatives, which encompass drawings, engineering analyses and calculations, and technical specifications.

• Composing technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, and proposals.

• Managing and mentoring junior staff while overseeing subcontractors.

• Ensuring work aligns with contract schedules, complies with relevant codes and regulations, adheres to regulatory compliance and enforcement, and meets industry standard-of-care criteria.

• Preparing for and engaging in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other stakeholders.

• In line with our sell-manage-do business model, contributing to lead generation, business development, staff development, and mentoring initiatives.

• Enhancing our reputation through publishing and visibility at key industry conferences.

• Operating personal, company, and rental vehicles to travel to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in geology, or environmental, civil, or chemical engineering (required).

• Advanced degree in geology or engineering (preferred).

• Professional registration or the ability to obtain it within one year (i.e., P.G. or P.E.) (preferred).

• A minimum of 5 years (7+ years preferred) of hands-on environmental consulting experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (required).

• Familiarity with regulatory requirements pertaining to environmental remediation and vapor intrusion (required).

• Experience working within multi-disciplinary project teams (required).

• Capability to thrive in a fast-paced consulting environment, managing multiple project assignments, adhering to strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as necessary (required).

• Knowledge of Texas geology (preferred).

• Prior project experience in the Oil and Gas sector (preferred).

• Willingness to engage in regular fieldwork and overnight travel (required).

• Current OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training and refresher courses (preferred).

• Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be necessary.

• Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel (required).
