This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada, +1 more state.
• Take a pivotal role in overseeing our efforts to plug orphaned oil and gas wells, which includes identifying wells, measuring and quantifying methane emissions, and executing well plugging projects.
• Organize, direct, and carry out emissions quantification fieldwork and related on-site tasks, which involve supervising external contractors' in-field operations, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and regulatory compliance, making on-site decisions, and adjusting project strategies based on environmental conditions and technical obstacles.
• Utilize project management techniques to advance projects from fieldwork through verification and crediting by collecting and managing documentation, coordinating cross-functional teams, prioritizing tasks, managing dependencies, and concurrently progressing multiple projects in the pipeline.
• Work in hazardous and potentially unsafe environments while upholding safety standards and achieving project goals concerning emissions measurement and well remediation.
• Provide assistance for fieldwork as necessary during other phases of project development.
• Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to advance projects, including technicians, technical consultants, contractors, other project managers, landowners, regulators, and government officials.
• Ensure regulatory compliance across all project-related activities by securing necessary permits, maintaining documentation, and fulfilling reporting obligations for relevant regulatory agencies, as needed.
• A Bachelor’s degree in engineering is mandatory.
• Preference for degrees in chemical, mechanical, or petroleum engineering.
• Required professional experience in the oil and gas sector, ideally with 3-5 years in a field-based operations role such as production engineering, facility engineering, drilling and/or workover, well completion, production testing, wireline, gas processing, or plugging.
• Proven ability and experience in managing multiple concurrent workstreams and resources.
• Experience in managing field-based contractors is preferred.
• Hands-on experience with chemical or analytical instruments is advantageous.
• Willingness to travel to field sites and other locations as necessary; schedule may vary.
• Candidates should be located near a major airport due to the diverse locations of our work.
• Experience in data analysis and creating simple models in Excel or other software tools.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy is essential.
• Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license and be willing to travel to various field sites.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds of equipment and work in various weather conditions for extended periods.
