This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

šŸ“‹ Description

• Lead diverse project teams in the planning, design, permitting, and execution of coastal resilience, habitat restoration, and sediment management initiatives across the U.S. East Coast, with a special emphasis on the Mid-Atlantic region.

• Supervise technical personnel and collaborate with engineers, scientists, planners, and regulatory experts to deliver a broad array of projects, including living shorelines, oyster reef restoration, thin-layer placement (TLP), beneficial use of dredged material, marsh restoration, sediment remediation, and other nature-based infrastructure efforts.

• Oversee project scope, timeline, budget, and client relations, guiding projects from conceptualization through design, permitting, construction, and post-construction monitoring.

• Collaborate closely with federal, state, and local agencies, port authorities, military bases, non-profit organizations, and private-sector clients to create innovative and sustainable solutions that strengthen coastal resilience, enhance habitats, and tackle complex environmental issues.

• Identify new opportunities related to coastal resilience, climate adaptation, beneficial use of dredged material, habitat restoration, and nature-based infrastructure.

• Organize project meetings, workshops, and stakeholder engagement activities with clients, agencies, community organizations, and project partners.

• Prepare and present technical information to clients, regulatory bodies, public stakeholders, and professional associations.


ā›³ļø Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Coastal Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Marine Science, Coastal Geology, Environmental Science, Ecology, or a related discipline; a Master’s degree is preferred.

• Over 6 years of progressively responsible experience in managing coastal resilience, habitat restoration, sediment management, environmental remediation, or similar environmental consulting projects.

• Demonstrated ability to develop and oversee project scopes, schedules, budgets, contracts, and subcontractors.

• Proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams and successfully delivering projects on time, within budget, and in line with client expectations.

• Experience leading the planning, design, permitting, construction, and/or monitoring of projects such as living shorelines, oyster reef restoration, marsh restoration and enhancement, thin-layer placement (TLP), beneficial use of dredged material, sediment remediation, and coastal resilience and nature-based infrastructure projects.

• In-depth understanding of coastal processes, sediment dynamics, habitat restoration, and principles of climate resilience.

• Experience coordinating with federal, state, and local agencies, including entities like the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, NOAA, EPA, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, state environmental agencies, and local governments.

• Experience in preparing, reviewing, and overseeing technical reports, engineering plans, permit applications, specifications, and other project deliverables.

• Strong client management abilities with a proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with federal, state, municipal, port, military, and private-sector clients.

• Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation communication skills, including experience facilitating meetings and presenting technical information to varied audiences.

• Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and conflicting priorities in a dynamic consulting environment.

• Professional Engineer (PE), Project Management Professional (PMP), Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS), or other relevant professional certification is preferred but not mandatory.
