This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Netherlands.
• Create, sustain, and manage a standardized EHS management framework across various regions.
• Offer functional oversight, guidance, and standardization assistance to Regional EHS Coordinators/Leads.
• Track regional EHS compliance, performance, and risk trends; escalate systemic issues, significant nonconformities, and notable events.
• Develop, implement, and continuously enhance global EHS policies, standards, and procedures.
• Standardize EHS practices across maintenance, ground operations, facilities, hazardous materials, ergonomics, and contractor safety.
• Establish minimum EHS performance standards, internal control expectations, and evidence requirements.
• Identify, evaluate, and manage health, safety, and environmental risks related to aviation operations.
• Align EHS hazards and risk controls with the Safety Management System.
• Oversee EHS incident reporting, investigation coordination, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive measures.
• Create and maintain a compliance obligations register while monitoring regional regulatory adherence.
• Assist with EHS audits and inspections by coordinating site preparedness, providing evidence, and ensuring the completion of corrective and preventive actions.
• Deliver consolidated EHS performance reports, trend analysis, and risk insights to executive leadership and governance committees.
• Foster a strong safety, health, environmental, and just culture throughout international operations.
• Provide guidance, coaching, and technical expertise to regional teams and operational leaders.
• Support EHS awareness, training, and competency development initiatives.
• Collaborate with the VP of Safety, Quality, Risk, operational leaders, maintenance leadership, Regional EHS Coordinators/Leads, and the Director of Assurance.
• Escalate significant EHS risks, systemic issues, and major nonconformities through Safety governance and, as directed, ERM and executive governance forums.
• Bachelor’s degree (EQF Level 6) in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of progressive EHS experience in aviation, industrial, or operational settings.
• Experience with international or multi-site responsibilities.
• Proven track record in developing and implementing global policies and standardized procedures across regions.
• Strong understanding of EHS regulatory frameworks, risk management, incident investigation, and audit processes.
• Familiarity with management system concepts, including connections to ISO 9001.
• Knowledge of EHS standards such as ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
• Capability to lead by influence in matrixed, multicultural settings.
• Exceptional analytical, communication, and executive-level reporting abilities.
• Must qualify for local security clearance as per program requirements.
• Professional certifications like NEBOSH Diploma/Certificate, IOSH membership, TechIOSH, CertIOSH, CMIOSH, CRSP, or CSP are preferred.
