This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Oversee and direct all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) initiatives throughout QTS Data Centers.
• Formulate and execute EHS policies, guidelines, and procedures aimed at safeguarding the health and safety of all employees at QTS data centers.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory standards across all EHS programs.
• Conduct audits of EHS programs and provide recommendations for enhancements.
• Manage environmental permits and guarantee compliance with all applicable regulations.
• Investigate and evaluate incident reports related to work-related injuries and illnesses, recommending preventive strategies.
• Identify EHS and sustainability operational risks, assess their potential business implications, and create programs to mitigate them.
• Evaluate EHS training requirements and ensure the delivery of essential training activities for the workforce.
• Lead site EHS champions to effectively implement EHS programs.
• Supervise the preparation and submission of necessary regulatory documents.
• Establish, manage, and monitor corporate-wide EHS objectives.
• Create a performance dashboard that highlights key EHS metrics.
• Promote a culture of EHS awareness and enhance safety performance throughout the organization.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical EHS, business-related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of eight years of experience in an EHS role, ideally in a mission-critical environment.
• Certifications from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals or equivalent, or the capability to obtain such certifications within two years.
• Extensive experience in devising and implementing systems for managing EHS operational risks.
• Willingness to travel 25-50% of the time.
• OSHA 30 and DOT HazMat certifications are preferred.
• Experience interacting with Federal, State, and Local Authorities on EHS matters is preferred.
• Knowledge of facilities management, engineering, and construction is preferred.
• Previous experience in a data center environment is preferred.
