Environmental Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the air permitting processes for data center facilities, including permits for backup generators, emergency engines, and associated emission sources.

• Prepare and submit permit applications to both state and federal agencies, and track them through the approval process.

• Lead the environmental permitting for new site development, starting from the initial site assessment to the issuance of permits.

• Supervise and manage third-party consultants and contractors engaged in permitting work, ensuring quality, accuracy, and timely submissions.

• Ensure continuous compliance with air, water, and waste regulations throughout the project lifecycle.

• Assist field operations during the construction and commissioning phases to uphold environmental compliance.

• Support environmental compliance audits and oversee corrective measures.

• Coordinate wildlife, water, and waste management requirements as necessary for site development.

• Engage with regulators, project managers, and contractors effectively.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering or a related field.

• Over 10 years of experience in environmental compliance, preferably in the energy, oil & gas, or infrastructure sectors.

• Proven expertise in air permitting (familiarity with Title V, minor source, PSD/NSR is a plus).

• Solid working knowledge of state and federal waste, water, and air regulations.

• Field experience in supporting operations and ensuring compliance.

• Strong foundation in compliance auditing.

• Experience in managing external consultants or contractors for permitting deliverables and environmental compliance.

• Capability to oversee multiple permits and deadlines across different sites.
