This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nebraska.
• Create solutions for technical challenges utilizing scientific principles, theories, practices, and existing technologies.
• Develop technical work plans, reports, basic data, and scientific documentation.
• Analyze and interpret data while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Plan, implement, analyze, and report on environmental metrics within natural systems.
• Gather samples of soil, soil vapor, groundwater, surface water, and sediment.
• Prepare samples for shipment and complete necessary chain-of-custody documentation or similar paperwork.
• Utilize knowledge of chemistry, physics, biology, hydrology, and mathematics to clarify observations.
• Investigate contaminants and develop strategies for environmental restoration.
• Review analytical data for general quality indicators in routine analyses.
• Collaborate with task and project managers, on-site subcontractors, and field personnel.
• Assist in sampling, data collection, and field documentation efforts.
• Offer technical expertise support.
• Primarily contribute to Federal environmental initiatives.
• A Bachelor’s degree in civil, chemical, mechanical, environmental engineering, or a related field, along with 6 years of pertinent experience or a proven equivalency of experience.
• At least 6 years of relevant experience.
• A valid U.S. Driver's License, subject to a motor vehicle records check.
• Successful completion of a background check.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Professional registration or progress toward obtaining one is preferred.
• Willingness to travel for fieldwork and/or meetings.
• Capability to undertake considerable travel within the United States, potentially several months annually.
• Competence in standard office suite software applications.
• OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER Certification or the ability to acquire one within 6 months of hire.
• Skills in database management, GIS, CAD, and visualization software are desirable.
