This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Ensure the safe operation of activities across the ONW India region.
• Offer technical EHS support, oversight, and execution of GE Vernova and ONW EHS standards.
• Assist the broader ONW COE EHS team in promoting a cohesive EHS culture.
• Oversee GE Vernova employees and contingent workers, distributing EHS resources throughout the region.
• Direct site/cluster EHS teams in the development, implementation, and monitoring of the EHS Management System.
• Enforce GE Vernova Life Saving Rules, EHS programs, and procedures in compliance with company and local regulations.
• Propel EHS and regulatory compliance at service sites within India.
• Collaborate with hub leaders, service site leads, MCU leaders, and blade services teams on EHS programs and training initiatives.
• Set and track KPIs for health and safety initiatives and accountability measures.
• Provide support and mentorship to Operations teams during incident investigations and root cause analysis.
• Communicate with customers, contractors/subcontractors, emergency services, and regulatory agencies regarding EHS issues.
• Deliver and assist in the development of EHS training while maintaining competency and completion records.
• Perform audits and inspections, managing third-party EHS inspections through prompt resolution of findings.
• Foster a positive EHS culture, promote STOP WORK Authority, EHS incentive programs, and Just and Fair Cause processes.
• Conduct EHS meetings with GE, partners, subcontractors, and other external parties.
• Guide teams in problem-solving, root cause identification, and the development of practical solutions.
• Address additional business requirements, including governance audits and EHS support for the EHS COE team.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, etc.).
• 10–15 years of progressive experience in health and safety roles, ideally within a cross-functional, multinational organization.
• Degree or professional certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., ASP, CSP, RLI, NEBOSH IGC preferred).
• Strong leadership and influence capabilities, with the ability to inspire teams across diverse cultures and locations.
• Comprehensive understanding of EHS management systems, international standards, and local safety regulations.
• Willingness to travel 50–60% of the time (domestic and international).
• Proven expertise in EHS Risk Assessment, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), EHS Auditing, Regulatory Compliance, and the design/implementation of EHS Management Systems.
• In-depth knowledge of service site environments and High-Risk Operations (HRO).
• Demonstrated experience in two or more of the following: Electrical Safety, LOTO requirements, Crane Safety, Construction Safety, Fall Prevention, or Confined Space entry.
• Exceptional skills in influence and communication, resilience, change management, performance/resource/conflict management, employee relations, team engagement, and goal setting.
• Established ability to organize, motivate, and drive change within cross-functional teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to conduct training for varied audiences.
• Good physical condition and fitness necessary for site visits and climbing wind turbines.
• High energy, self-starter demeanor, and capacity to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
