This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Execute a combination of scheduled maintenance, installations/upgrades, and urgent responses when customers face time-sensitive issues.
• Efficiently identify faults using a systematic approach (symptoms → logs/data → root cause → resolution).
• Utilize a Windows laptop to access necessary tools, examine logs, perform updates/configurations, and document actions taken.
• Conduct network connectivity tasks (LAN connections, IP settings, basic troubleshooting) to access device interfaces and verify communications.
• Repair and maintain electro-mechanical systems (modules, sensors, motors, transport mechanisms, power components).
• Implement preventative maintenance to decrease downtime and enhance reliability.
• Deliver clear updates to customers and set expectations during service activities.
• Ensure accurate job documentation (work done, parts utilized, findings, next steps) to facilitate first-time fixes and maintain audit quality.
• Effectively escalate issues when necessary — providing clear evidence, logs, and fault context to technical support.
• Operate within agreed service levels (SLAs) that assist in keeping customer operations running efficiently.
• The majority of tasks are planned and organized. When a customer has a time-sensitive issue, you will prioritize it with assistance from scheduling and technical teams — aiming for a first-time fix and minimal disruption.
• Demonstrated field service experience in a customer-focused environment (ideal backgrounds include ATMs, printers/MFDs, EPOS, kiosks, vending, security systems, cash-handling, or similar technology).
• Strong fault-finding skills in electro-mechanical systems.
• Proficient in using a Windows laptop for diagnostics, reporting, and communication purposes.
• Networking knowledge: LAN/Ethernet, IP addressing, connectivity checks, and accessing device interfaces.
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Ability to effectively manage your daily tasks based on priorities and workload in collaboration with your Regional Service Controller.
• Full UK driving licence required.
• Expected networking self-check: If you can set a static IP, log into a router/switch, confidently troubleshoot “no connection issues,” and logically understand networking fundamentals — you'll excel in this role.
• Experience in adhering to SLAs and managing high-priority callouts.
• Understanding of health and safety in the field (risk awareness, safe working practices, customer site standards).
• Familiarity with hardware/software upgrades, device configurations, or remote support tools.
• Ability to coach/mentor to support less experienced engineers.
• 25 days of holiday per year plus bank holidays, with the option to purchase up to five additional days.
• Company car provided.
• Competitive company pension scheme.
• Continuous training and development opportunities.
• Private medical insurance for all employees (enhanced membership available for family members).
• Dental insurance coverage for all employees.
• Life assurance included.
• Income protection scheme offered.
• Employee assistance programme available.
• Employee Wellbeing events and access to Mental Health First Aiders.
• Employee My Benefits portal providing extensive retail discounts.
