Entry Level Background Investigator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Conduct detailed interviews with subjects, employers, associates, references, and other informed individuals.

• Examine relevant records to gather facts.

• Address all significant issues in cases to verify the background, reputation, character, suitability, or qualifications of subjects being investigated.

• Perform interviews using virtual teleconferencing, phone calls, and in-person meetings, with VTC as the preferred method.

• Participate in a multi-week intensive virtual online training program.

• Engage in additional shadowing and mentorship alongside a seasoned Investigator.

• May require travel across the U.S. for temporary duty assignments, typically lasting two weeks.

• Bachelor’s Degree or four years of general experience showcasing progressive responsibility in problem-solving, planning, organizing work, and effective oral and written communication.

• Capability to secure and maintain a favorable determination based on a T5 Investigation.

• Strong commitment to supporting national security initiatives.

• Exemplary work ethic, integrity, and a proactive, positive attitude.

• Proficient in navigating and utilizing multiple technology systems concurrently to enhance workflow efficiency and productivity.

• Valid driver’s license, reliable personal vehicle, and flexibility to travel locally based on assignment location.

• Home office situated within a reasonable distance from work areas and equipped with dependable high-speed internet.

• Ability to sit, type, stand, or walk for prolonged periods.

• Outstanding time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

• Skill in conveying complex or sensitive information clearly to individuals or groups.

• Proficient in listening attentively, responding appropriately to nonverbal cues, and delivering clear and persuasive oral presentations.

• Capability to foster strong relationships with diverse individuals and manage challenging situations with tact and professionalism.

• Proficient use of correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling.

• Active Top Secret Clearance based on a T5 (preferred but not required).
