
Entry Level Architect – Building Assessment

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Conducting Property Condition Assessments for existing commercial properties
• Overseeing new construction or renovation initiatives
• Assisting with energy efficiency and ADA compliance audits
• Performing forensic evaluations of key building systems and distressed conditions
• Capturing photographs of site and building system conditions
• Conducting preliminary interviews and researching property maintenance history
• Providing maintenance recommendations and estimating probable costs for building systems using our extensive cost and recommendation libraries
• Composing clear and concise condition and status reports utilizing our in-house report templates
• Engaging in public records research pertaining to building, zoning, and fire code violations
• Conducting regular site visits to oversee construction, evaluate contractors’ payment requisitions, and advise on the release of construction funds
• Monitoring general compliance of as-built conditions with contract drawings and specifications
• Reviewing construction timelines, trade payment breakdowns, job cost reports, and payment requisitions
• Managing multiple projects concurrently
• Collaborating as a team member, leveraging the expertise of senior authors who will review your reports prior to client delivery
• Providing excellent client service through timely responses and proactive solutions
• Prior experience in construction administration, construction management, architecture, engineering, or a related field is preferred
• Experience in conducting PCAs and similar projects is preferred
• Familiarity with assessing various types of properties is preferred
• Understanding of the entitlement/permitting process along with construction delivery methods and agreements
• Knowledge of construction best practices, general building codes, and various building types
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are essential
• Experience with Quire is advantageous but not mandatory
• Proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Advanced writing and communication abilities are required
• Personable and capable of engaging with individuals at all levels
• Willingness to travel is necessary
• Self-motivated, resourceful, with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects independently under strict deadlines with guidance from senior staff
• Ability to climb ladders to access two and three story, low-slope roofs
• Capable of working outdoors and navigating stairs, sites, and building interiors
• Experience with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, or HUD guidelines and Property Needs Assessments is a plus
