This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Create scalable and adaptable solution architectures for Baldwin Retail that align with enterprise architecture principles and IT strategy.
• Convert product requirements into technical designs by collaborating with product owners to grasp business processes and pinpoint challenges.
• Develop agentic AI and automation solutions, including patterns for agent orchestration, integration of LLM, human-in-the-loop workflows, and tool/API exposure for agent usage.
• Contribute to the establishment of design standards, guardrails, and reference patterns utilized by engineering teams.
• Assess third-party products, platforms, and cloud services while formulating recommendations on whether to build or buy.
• Review solution designs with engineering teams to identify risks and architectural deficiencies.
• Collaborate with Security, Compliance, and Risk teams to incorporate information security, Business Continuity, and Disaster Recovery requirements.
• Work alongside Data Platform teams on data processing methodologies, integration strategies, and access limitations.
• Generate architectural decision records, integration specifications, and design documentation.
• Design and implement cloud solutions across AWS and Azure, ensuring reliability and operational readiness.
• Create prototypes for new solutions, validate component compatibility, and establish reusable patterns.
• Engage in architecture reviews and design discussions.
• Guarantee that solutions adhere to cloud best practices regarding reliability, cost efficiency, observability, and performance.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, including generative and agentic AI, for their relevance to the Retail technology roadmap.
• Extensive technical knowledge in solution and application architecture, particularly in distributed systems, API design, enterprise integration patterns, and event-driven architectures.
• Strong understanding of cloud architecture principles across AWS and Azure, focusing on compute, networking, identity, and security controls.
• Practical knowledge of AI and automation solution patterns, including LLM integration, retrieval-augmented generation, and agent orchestration frameworks.
• Familiarity with secure design principles and architectural controls applicable to regulated environments (SOX, SOC 2, PCI, PII).
• Capacity to convert product requirements into viable technical solutions and effectively convey designs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, including root cause analysis and assessment of various technical paths amid uncertainty.
• Skill in fostering alignment among product owners and cross-functional engineering teams.
• Understanding of cloud-native observability, monitoring, scalability design, and performance optimization.
• High level of ownership and adaptability in a fast-evolving technological and business landscape.
• A bachelor's degree is mandatory.
• Ideally, 12 to 18 years of experience in software development, design, or solution architecture, with a robust background in business and technical solution delivery.
• Proven experience in application development, having built at least one application from the ground up throughout the entire development lifecycle.
• Experience in designing scalable, secure, and highly available systems on AWS and/or Azure.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create clear technical documentation.
• Practical experience in designing or delivering agentic AI or intelligent automation solutions in a production setting.
• Familiarity with Salesforce platform architecture, integration, or solution design.
• Knowledge of Applied Epic or similar insurance agency management systems.
• Experience in the insurance or financial services sector, or equivalent experience in a regulated industry.
• Experience with workflow orchestration and automation platforms.
