• Take ownership of outbound prospecting, making approximately 100 cold calls daily to enterprise commercial construction contractors (those with over $75M in annual construction volume) — identifying suitable accounts, mapping out relevant contacts, and engaging them with a unique perspective rather than a scripted approach.
• Create a qualified pipeline for Account Executives by scheduling high-conviction discovery meetings with buyers facing real, specific challenges that Kojo can address.
• Leverage the complete modern go-to-market stack, including AI-driven sequencing, enrichment workflows, and call intelligence tools, to prospect more intelligently and uncover better signals rather than merely increasing volume.
• Develop, test, and refine outbound strategies: analyze which messaging resonates, which does not, and understand the reasons behind it — then share these insights with the sales and marketing teams to enhance Kojo's market approach.
• Achieve and surpass monthly targets for meetings conducted and Sales-accepted opportunities, treating your pipeline figure as a key business metric rather than a mere checklist.
• Become a true expert in commercial construction: understand the key players, buying dynamics, pain points, and recognize when a contractor identifies a problem that needs resolution.
• You have experience making 50 or more cold calls per day in a previous Sales Development Representative (SDR) or Business Development Representative (BDR) position.
• You have constructed or significantly enhanced outbound sequences that outperformed standard templates and can articulate the reasons for the success of those changes.
• You possess strong discovery instincts: able to distinguish between questions that reveal pain points and those that simply fulfill a checklist.
• You have received constructive feedback, implemented changes within days (not weeks), and seen your performance metrics improve as a result.
• You have quickly familiarized yourself with a complex product or unfamiliar industry, establishing yourself as a credible and knowledgeable voice in that space.
• Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in the construction or specialty trades industry.
• This role is also eligible for a new hire equity grant.
