This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Serve as a technical advisor on all facets of Actian, primarily concentrating on database management, data analytics, and artificial intelligence.
• Partner with the Sales team to identify and secure new business opportunities.
• Offer strategic pre-sales support for sales initiatives, including needs assessments, technology evaluations, requirements definition, and project scoping.
• Develop and present exceptional product demonstrations and presentations tailored to the needs of prospects, customers, or internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with clients on proof-of-concept projects in a competitive landscape.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of competing and complementary technologies and vendors, positioning Actian effectively in comparison.
• Provide advice on resolving specific technical challenges faced by customers.
• Work alongside Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing to enhance Actian’s products and marketing strategies continuously.
• Conduct research on companies and prospects to pinpoint business issues and needs, sharing findings with customers to support our recommendations.
• Become a specialist in our products’ features, advantages, presentations, and their application to customer requirements.
• Deliver proactive support to customers and prospects with the aim of driving sales.
• Build and sustain positive customer relationships while following up on opportunities.
• Act as the customer advocate and liaison for product management and development teams.
• Perform other related tasks as assigned.
• At least 5 years of experience in a pre-sales or post-sales technical role involving customer interaction.
• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related fields, or equivalent experience.
• Exceptional presentation skills for both technical and executive audiences, whether spontaneously on a whiteboard or through formal presentations and demos.
• Strong expertise in databases, data warehouses, and data processing.
• Extensive hands-on experience with SQL and SQL analytics.
• Proven track record in selling data and/or analytics software to enterprise clients, demonstrating skills in identifying key stakeholders, crafting winning value propositions, and recognizing compelling events.
• Familiarity with relational and large-scale analytics database technologies (e.g., Oracle, Informix, SQL Server, Snowflake, Netezza, Teradata, etc.).
• Experience with AI vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Qdrant, Milvus, Chroma, etc.).
• Understanding of the modern AI stack, including infrastructure, orchestration, frameworks, and AI governance.
• Knowledge of large-scale infrastructure-as-a-service platforms (e.g., Google Cloud Platform, Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure).
• Familiarity with common BI and data exploration tools (e.g., PowerBI, Looker, Tableau, etc.).
