Enterprise Data Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Take ownership and manage Gateway Fiber’s Microsoft Fabric environment, encompassing Lake houses, Warehouses, One Lake, Data Factory, and associated data engineering tasks.

• Oversee the enterprise Lakehouse and Medallion Architecture, which includes the Bronze, Silver, and Gold data layers.

• Design, maintain, and enhance ETL/ELT pipelines that convert source-system data into reliable, business-ready datasets.

• Publish and oversee Gold datasets that analysts and business teams can utilize confidently for reporting and analytics.

• Support Power BI semantic models, datasets, and enhance reporting performance.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, IT, and vendors to identify data requirements, enhance quality, and promote adoption.

• Provide SQL Server database administration support for GIS and various enterprise systems, including monitoring, maintenance, backups, and performance optimization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering, database administration, analytics platforms, or enterprise data systems.

• Practical experience with Microsoft Fabric, modern data platforms, Lake houses, Warehouses, or enterprise data lakes.

• Proven experience in building ETL/ELT pipelines and transforming source-system data into well-curated datasets.

• Proficient SQL and T-SQL skills, including troubleshooting, performance tuning, and data modeling.

• Familiarity with Power BI semantic models, datasets, and reporting solutions.

• Knowledge of data governance, data quality, documentation, and enterprise reporting standards.

• Capability to work independently, engage with stakeholders, and take ownership in a small-team setting.

• Experience with Medallion Architecture, Azure Data Platform technologies, Python, PowerShell, or automation.

• Background in supporting ArcGIS Enterprise, GIS data environments, or enterprise SQL Server databases.

• Experience in integrating ERP, CRM, OSS/BSS, telecom, utility, or other operational systems.

• Relevant certifications in Microsoft Fabric, Azure, Esri, or related fields.
