Enterprise Architect – Application Architecture

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Play an essential leadership role in developing and advancing Empower’s application architecture strategy.

• Define, enhance, and convey the application architecture strategy, principles, standards, and roadmap.

• Lead the Application Architecture Guild and promote the adoption of architectural standards.

• Provide technical leadership in modern application architecture.

• Guide engineering and product teams in creating scalable, secure, resilient, observable, and maintainable applications and services.

• Collaborate with business, product, engineering, and other leaders to align architectural decisions.

• Establish and oversee application architecture principles.

• Conduct architecture reviews and manage decision-making forums.

• Encourage teams to adopt target-state architecture patterns.

• Develop and maintain reference architectures, architecture playbooks, and standards documentation.

• Assess emerging technologies for relevance to Empower’s application landscape.

• Support modernization initiatives.

• Provide thought leadership, advocacy, assurance, and promote continuous improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 15 years of experience in software engineering, systems development, and technology delivery.

• More than 7 years in architecture roles.

• Proven track record in defining and implementing application architecture standards.

• Strong expertise in contemporary architecture approaches.

• In-depth understanding of cross-cutting architectural concerns.

• Significant experience with modern integration patterns and technologies.

• Experience collaborating closely with DevOps and platform engineering practices.

• Demonstrated capability to influence senior leaders, engineers, and delivery teams.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
