
Enterprise Account Executive – DACH

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Report to an Area Sales Manager and manage a diverse portfolio of Enterprise business, encompassing both new prospects and the expansion of existing accounts.
• Oversee the entire sales cycle for Enterprise prospects, from initial discovery and solution alignment to negotiation and closing deals.
• Assist GitLab in engaging with Enterprise prospects by effectively communicating our DevSecOps value proposition and aligning it with customer business outcomes.
• Evaluate successes and failures, participate in root cause analyses, and share insights with account managers, marketing, and technical teams.
• Maintain accurate documentation of buying criteria, processes, next steps, and responsible parties to ensure a dependable, evidence-based pipeline.
• Aid in refining our sales handbook and processes by documenting best practices and identifying areas for improvement.
• Provide leadership and direction for accounts throughout both pre- and post-sales phases, collaborating closely with technical teams and customer success.
• Act as the voice of the customer by offering product feedback and ideas to our public issue tracker.
• Demonstrated success in software sales, particularly in an Enterprise market context, managing a diverse book of business.
• Capability to guide customers through the complete buying journey, including defining buying criteria, mapping buying processes, and facilitating clear next steps.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with business development, marketing, technical teams, and sales management.
• Experience in documenting and maintaining precise pipeline data and account plans based on evidence rather than assumptions.
• Proficient in conducting and contributing to win/loss and root cause analyses, sharing insights to enhance team performance and processes.
• Expertise in negotiation, presenting to customer stakeholders, and leading commercial discussions to successfully close opportunities.
• Interest in GitLab, open source software, and preferably familiarity with Git, software development tools, or application lifecycle management.
• Alignment with GitLab’s values and a willingness to contribute from diverse or transferable sales backgrounds, with readiness to travel according to company policy.
• Fluent German language skills (required).
