This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Conduct and evaluate actuarial valuations for Defined Benefit / Cash Balance plans in compliance with IRS laws and regulations.
• Prepare and assess annual non-discrimination testing for qualified pension plans such as Cash Balance, Defined Benefit, 401(k), Profit Sharing, and Money Purchase plans.
• Review filings and notifications from the PBGC.
• Certify contribution and asset figures for AFTAP.
• Prepare and assess annual FASB reports.
• Create, review, and distribute government form filings promptly, including IRS & DOL form 5500, Schedule SB, etc.
• Develop preliminary design studies and projections that comply with all non-discrimination requirements.
• Prepare, review, and provide consultation on plan termination filings with the IRS and PBGC.
• Represent clients during audits with the IRS, PBGC, and DOL, including P/T Exemption and VCP Filings.
• Lead and/or engage in retirement plan consulting projects.
• Client interaction and business development are encouraged at your discretion and will be recognized, though not mandatory.
• Capacity to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Additional duties as assigned.
• A minimum of 5 years of pertinent actuarial experience with small plans.
• Understanding of business entities in relation to plan compensation and design.
• Strong knowledge of 415 limits, 410(b), Top Heavy, and 401(a)(4) non-discrimination testing.
• Comprehensive understanding of Cash Balance Plans.
• Ability to comprehend client business challenges and their impact on retirement plans.
• Well-organized individual capable of prioritizing, meeting deadlines, and maintaining attention to detail.
• Team-oriented, collaborative, and able to work effectively with others.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities for internal and external interactions.
• Competence to perform well under pressure while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
