English to Japanese – Legal Translator/Editor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Offer legal translation and/or editing services from English to Japanese

• Utilize expertise in legal terminology, along with understanding of U.S. legal, judicial, and technical terms

• Produce high-quality work in a remote environment

• Accept assignments on an on-demand basis as required

• Adhere to deadlines while ensuring outstanding written accuracy

⛳️ Requirements

• At least three years of professional experience in legal translation and/or editing

• Native-level proficiency in both Japanese and English writing

• Proven understanding of U.S. legal, judicial, and technical terminology in both languages

• Bachelor’s degree in foreign languages, linguistics, translation, or a related discipline

• Familiarity with computer-assisted translation tools; experience with Trados is preferred

• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail

• Capability to meet deadlines

• Must be a U.S. citizen

• Willingness to undergo security clearance processing, including fingerprinting, if selected

• Generally available from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time on most weekdays

• Capacity to accept on-demand assignments totaling around 10 to 15 hours per week as necessary
