English-to-German Legal Translator – Freelance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide translation and/or editing services from English to German for a client of the United States Government.

• Deliver exceptional legal translation and editing work remotely.

• Manage ongoing assignments as required.

• Work with legal, judicial, and technical terms.

• Accept assignments during standard business hours as necessary.

• Complete the security clearance process, including fingerprinting, if selected.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of three years of professional experience in legal translation and/or editing services.

• Native-level proficiency in French writing and advanced command of written English.

• Proven knowledge of U.S. legal, judicial, and technical terminology in both English and German.

• Bachelor’s degree in a foreign language, linguistics, translation, or a related field.

• Experience with computer-assisted translation tools; preference for Trados experience.

• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

• Capability to meet deadlines effectively.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Applicants must be U.S. citizens.

• Willingness to undergo security clearance processing, including fingerprinting, if selected.

• Generally available between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time on most weekdays.

• Ability to accept on-demand assignments totaling around 10 to 15 hours per week.
