English Instructor, Full-time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Teach small groups of students the essential English skills to foster a deep understanding of topics and achieve high scores on college readiness exams (ACT & SAT).

• Monitor your students’ progress as they advance through Vanguard’s distinctive multi-phase curriculum.

• Organize and update student lesson schedules, hold them accountable for their assignments, and exemplify professionalism and strong organizational skills through prompt communication with students.

• Lead the creation and innovative execution of continuously evolving lesson plans and curricula.

• Support middle and high school students with empathy, recognizing the increasing competitiveness and stress associated with the college application process.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree or higher in a humanities discipline from US institutions (English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Publishing, etc.) (Master’s degree or higher preferred).

• At least one year of teaching experience in English and/or experience in a college-level Writing Center.

• Proven academic excellence (e.g., 3.5 GPA or above).

• Excellent verbal communication skills and a strong command of the English language.

• Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and G-Suites.

• Must have access to a reliable internet connection and a quiet workspace with minimal distractions.
