This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mississippi.
β’ Execute assembly at the component level, conduct bench testing, perform diagnostics, troubleshoot issues, and repair electronic Line Replaceable Units and processing systems.
β’ Carry out responsibilities in an electronics laboratory setting utilizing bench-type electronic testing equipment.
β’ Evaluate and troubleshoot environmental monitoring sensors, data collection systems, and processing systems down to the component level.
β’ Adhere to established procedures, redline drawings, and schematics.
β’ Fulfill assigned tasks within specified time constraints and deadlines.
β’ Undertake additional assigned responsibilities as needed.
β’ Assist the National Data Buoy Center in delivering high-quality meteorological and oceanographic observations for maritime safety.
β’ Training or experience in the maintenance, repair, testing, and modification of electrical and electronic systems.
β’ Knowledge of maintenance, calibration, microprocessor-based data acquisition systems, test sets, sensors, laboratory bench equipment, and precision calibration electro-mechanical instruments.
β’ Associate's degree (AS/AAS) in Electronics, Instrumentation, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
β’ Must successfully pass a government background check.
β’ Experience in conducting tests and troubleshooting at the component level for environmental monitoring sensors, data collection, and processing systems.
β’ Proficiency in using oscilloscopes, digital voltmeters (DVMs), ammeters, pulse/function generators, resistance thermometers, and waveform generators.
β’ Familiarity with analog, digital, and RF circuitry.
β’ Capability to follow procedures, drawings, and schematics accurately.
β’ Ability to work independently with occasional supervision.
