Engineering Technician I – Traveling

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Travel extensively across Terracon’s Gulf Coast division, which includes Tennessee, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia.

• Conduct field testing, observation, and inspection of various construction materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel.

• Engage in high-profile projects, including transportation, commercial buildings, and wind farms.

• Interact with project managers, engineering technicians, client representatives, contractor representatives, and other stakeholders.

• Transport material samples and related documentation to laboratories for further testing and analysis.

• Compile, prepare, and submit both written and digital data, along with observation reports for daily transmission to the Terracon Project Manager.

• Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and workspaces.

• Assist in scheduling and dispatching technicians to project sites as necessary.

• Adhere to safety protocols, conduct pre-task planning, report safety concerns, and uphold project quality standards.

• Operate under close supervision while progressively taking on more training and responsibilities.

• Adapt to dynamic project environments, job site conditions, geographical locations, and team structures.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or its equivalent.

• Minimum of 6 months of relevant experience required.

• Willingness to travel up to 100% and for extended periods without the ability to return home.

• Flexibility to work varied schedules, including overtime, weekends, and extended shifts.

• A valid driver’s license with an acceptable violation history may be necessary.

• Must obtain ACI certification within 90 days of hire.

• Successful completion of related internal safety certifications is required.

• Nuclear Density Gauge certification within 6 months of hire is preferred.
