This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Austria.

📋 Description

• Stay Engaged with Code: Contribute high-quality code actively to our .NET Core backend ecosystem.

• Collaborative Support: Work closely with the squad's developers without the pressure of being the sole technical lead for the backend track, allowing for a focus on holistic squad delivery.

• Link Strategy to Execution: Serve as a crucial connection that translates broader organizational product and engineering strategy to the squad, converting high-level tech and product objectives into clear, actionable milestones.

• Participate in the Trio: Collaborate daily with your Product Owner and Product Designer. You'll not only manage execution but also actively represent engineering feasibility, advocating for technical health during product discovery.

• Emphasize Iteration & MVPs: Guide the team towards high-velocity, iterative shipping. Leverage an agile mindset to break down complex goals into MVPs, ensuring the squad's output significantly impacts our company OKRs.

• Ensure Quality Assurance: Lead all squad engineers, including embedded QA, ensuring quality is seamlessly integrated into our iterative workflow from initial discovery to deployment.

• Promote Honest Communication: Foster a high-trust environment where radical honesty and psychological safety flourish. Strong communication skills are vital as you coach your team through obstacles and career development.

• Encourage Growth: Conduct meaningful 1-on-1s, provide ongoing feedback, and support the career progression and performance of your direct reports.

• Streamline Operations: Proactively identify bottlenecks in our daily engineering workflows and squad processes, utilizing AI and automation tools to reduce friction and manual overhead.

• Enhance Squad Velocity: Advocate for the integration of AI-assisted development tools within the team, aiding engineers in writing, testing, and deploying code more effectively.

• Innovate Freely: Keep the squad at the forefront by experimenting with automated testing, automated documentation, and AI-driven insights to improve delivery health.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated Leadership: Over 2 years of formal experience leading and managing engineering teams, with a proven ability to handle performance support, career coaching, and delivery management.

• Hands-on .NET Core Proficiency: Extensive production experience as a Senior or Lead Engineer specializing in the .NET Core ecosystem.

• Communication Specialist: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. You excel at simplifying complex technical strategies and fostering open team dynamics.

• Value-Centric Delivery: Strong alignment with agile principles, with experience delivering through short iterative cycles, developing MVPs, and measuring success against OKRs.

• Language Skills: Proficiency in English is essential as it is our primary working language.

• Preferred Experience: Familiarity with mobile development frameworks (iOS and Android) to better support the cross-functional members of your squad. Proficiency in German is a significant asset for broader collaboration within our local ecosystem.
