This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Manage a team of engineers and technicians responsible for the settings and coordination of protective relays.
• Evaluate project drawings, system protection settings, and perform necessary calculations.
• Conduct analyses for short-circuit and symmetrical components.
• Design and enhance relay settings and coordination strategies for essential infrastructure.
• Create protection schemes for projects involving transmission, distribution, generation, and renewable energy.
• Oversee engineering tasks throughout the proposal, design, and construction phases.
• Handle project scope, change orders, and timelines efficiently.
• Lead and coordinate various disciplines alongside project management teams.
• Ensure quality and responsiveness to meet client expectations.
• Supervise the design activities of team members.
• Provide strategic guidance and oversight for technical services.
• Mentor, train, and develop technical personnel.
• Organize weekly or bi-weekly team meetings and manage resource planning within the team.
• Conduct performance evaluations and support the professional growth of team members.
• Collaborate with Sales and engineering teams to drive revenue growth and service expansion.
• Assist in the development and review of proposals.
• Foster positive relationships with clients.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution or equivalent is required.
• A minimum of 6 years of experience in the engineering sector is preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration is preferred, or the ability to obtain it within 6 months of employment.
• Demonstrated experience with system modeling and fault analysis software, such as ASPEN, CAPE, ETAP, or EasyPower.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
• Comprehensive knowledge of system modeling, relay coordination studies, and protective relay settings for systems from 12.47 kV to 345 kV.
• Experience implementing protection system engineering practices in transmission lines, buses, transformers, capacitor banks, reactor banks, feeders, generators, motors, or communication-assisted protection schemes.
• Familiarity with NERC PRC standards for compliance is essential.
• Must possess permanent authorization to work in the U.S.
• A valid driver's license and the ability to meet company driving criteria are required.
• Willingness to travel approximately 20% of the year is necessary.
• Must be analytical and self-driven.
• Strong skills in analytics and information management are required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills are essential.
• Ability to juggle multiple projects with well-defined expectations and timelines is necessary.
• Outstanding presentation and verbal/written communication skills are a must.
