
Engineering Manager – Training and Standards

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nebraska.
• Report to the Senior Director of Engineering – NA Transmission while overseeing direct reports.
• Travel requirements of up to 20% (both domestic and international, including overnight stays).
• Collaborate with Site Engineering Managers and Supervisors to aid in the development of new engineers.
• Create standardized training programs for associate and design engineers.
• Evaluate training needs and implement training programs for engineers.
• Provide technical support and leadership to team members as well as internal and external customers.
• Oversee performance management activities, such as reviews, goal setting, development plans, mentoring, and succession planning.
• Work with the Engineering Systems team to enhance systems and design tools by providing written specifications and conducting testing for system upgrades.
• Lead or assist with special technical projects as required.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement approved changes.
• Provide performance feedback and assess team members.
• Support departmental initiatives and efforts for continuous improvement.
• Ensure effective coordination with cross-functional teams.
• Utilize project management tools (e.g., JIRA) to manage tasks and initiatives.
• Assist with recruitment and interviewing processes.
• Help engineers in resolving production and field issues.
• Bachelor’s degree in Structural, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Over 7 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Strong expertise in structural/civil design, preferably in tubular steel structures or line design.
• Knowledge of product application, design principles, fabrication, welding processes, and quality standards.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
• Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and planning abilities.
• High attention to detail with the capacity to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and process-development skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
• Proven integrity, accountability, and results-oriented mindset.
• Proficiency in both spoken and written English.
