This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nigeria.
• Take charge of delivery and execution within the Site Reliability Engineering tooling team. Assess product requirements for feasibility and ensure they align with the current product architecture, converting them into EPICs and technical stories. Collaborate closely with Product Managers and Engineers to refine and clarify tasks.
• Strategically plan and organize sprints with well-defined objectives, utilizing project planning tools to set timelines, delivery milestones, and identify task dependencies early on. Promote engineering processes that encourage seamless collaboration and teamwork.
• Monitor team velocity to guarantee effective resource allocation, balancing workload with task requirements. Coordinate alignment and manage dependencies among various stakeholders to prevent bottlenecks and ensure smooth execution.
• Contribute to essential projects by applying appropriate design patterns and coding methodologies. Stay actively involved by participating in code reviews to maintain high-quality standards.
• Ensure monitoring and observability are established for all services under your purview, meeting defined SLIs/SLOs. Collaborate with Product Managers to track and publish post-deployment product metrics, ensuring transparency with key stakeholders.
• At least 8 years of experience in a Software Developer, Software Engineer, or a comparable role.
• Over 5 years of experience with Node JS / Python.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a leadership role is essential.
• Strong grasp of agile methodologies, sprint planning, and backlog management.
• Proficient in breaking down intricate product requirements into organized EPICs, Stories, and Tasks.
• Solid background in backend technologies; experience with frontend is an advantage.
• Familiarity with project planning tools to visualize and track delivery timelines.
• Knowledge of engineering metrics and monitoring tools to evaluate team performance and product health.
• Ability to debug complex technical issues during incidents to identify solutions and facilitate blameless RCA sessions.
• Understanding of deployment pipelines, continuous integration (CI), continuous deployment (CD), and their associated metrics.
• Capacity to drive alignment across diverse technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Outstanding ability to manage dependencies, mitigate risks, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
• Proven history of enhancing team velocity and fostering efficient delivery.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
