This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assemble and scale a high-performing team: lead, mentor, and develop the team while strategically hiring, pinpointing operational deficiencies, and elevating engineering standards.
• Propel execution across key initiatives: Achieve milestones on a multi-quarter roadmap that includes reporting infrastructure, enterprise reporting capabilities, AI-driven insights, and scalable data foundations.
• Formulate technical and product strategy: Collaborate closely with Product and cross-functional engineering teams to establish the long-term vision and architecture for reporting and data-centric product experiences.
• Navigate through ambiguity and rapid growth: Tackle complex, evolving challenges while balancing immediate customer impact with long-term platform investments.
• Collaborate across functions: Work closely with Product, Design, Platform, and business stakeholders to refine Vanta’s reporting strategy and enterprise data capabilities.
• Possess 4+ years of professional experience in a full-time engineering management position, with a proven track record of overseeing 8-12+ engineers.
• Have previously managed product engineering teams focused on developing a reporting or data visualization product.
• Hold strong technical expertise—preferably as a former senior or staff engineer—with the capability to influence data infrastructure and product architecture decisions.
• Demonstrate a history of delivering results across multiple workstreams while ensuring quality and team velocity.
• Have experience in shaping product and technical strategy in collaboration with Product and Design teams.
• Have been involved in developing or leading engineering-wide initiatives in a previous role.
• Be a decisive leader who effectively navigates ambiguity, available data, speed, and quality.
• Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and adjacent teams, serving as an effective communicator and storyteller.
• Willing to leverage AI to enhance skills and improve work processes—showing curiosity, a desire to learn, and sound judgment in responsibly applying AI to boost efficiency and impact.
