Engineering Manager – IT & Security

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee a team of IT and Security professionals.

• Assign tasks and provide support to enhance IT and Security processes as well as career growth.

• Lead the team in navigating compliance audit requirements.

• Assist employees across the organization with daily IT and Security challenges.

• Take ownership and collaborate with Operations teams on security questionnaires.

• Develop and manage security projects that span the entire company.

• Establish and advocate for security best practices and guidance.

• Manage security incidents, including evaluation, assessment, and vulnerability testing for web and mobile applications, cloud infrastructure, and internal networks.

• Optimize, scale, and automate various processes.

• Represent the IT and Security team while collaborating with Recruiting, HR, Finance, Engineering, and other cross-functional stakeholders.

• Provide advice to engineering teams regarding secure coding practices and assist in the building, deployment, and maintenance of cloud security controls.

• Envision and contribute to the establishment of a dedicated security team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in Security and IT, including at least 1 year in a management role.

• Previous experience in developing technical security guidelines and processes across various teams.

• In-depth knowledge of security best practices, standards, and frameworks.

• Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.

• Patience and a genuine desire to assist and solve problems.

• Ability to quickly learn new concepts and manage uncertainty.

• Willingness to seek assistance when needed.

• Experience managing audits and certifications such as ISO 27001:2022 and SOC2.

• Understanding of data residency requirements and GDPR regulations.

• Background in offensive security engagements.

• Familiarity with static code analysis and/or fuzz testing.

• Involvement in the security community and/or contributions to open-source software.

• Experience with AWS security and tools including Inspector, Detective, GuardDuty, and WAF.
