This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Recruit, mentor, and empower a high-performing Growth engineering team, fostering an environment where GitLab team members can excel and achieve outstanding results.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Product Designers, Data specialists, and other Engineering Managers to define and implement enhancements that boost user discovery, activation, and value expansion in GitLab.
• Oversee the delivery for your team, encompassing planning, prioritization, and execution of work related to experiments and product enhancements, transforming insights into measurable improvements in conversion, engagement, and upgrade processes.
• Propel Growth’s operational model by steering experiment ideation, ICE-based prioritization, hypothesis formulation, and result reviews, enabling the team to scale successful changes and promptly discontinue low-impact initiatives.
• Direct the technical design and execution of experiments and growth-focused product modifications, ensuring they are accurately measured and linked to activation, conversion, and retention metrics.
• Collaborate across Growth and other stage groups on initiatives that touch areas managed by different teams, facilitating your team’s progress while upholding strong partnerships and clear ownership boundaries.
• Engage in technical discussions and reviews, assisting in resolving complex issues and translating technical and experimental trade-offs into clear contexts for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Promote effective asynchronous communication and healthy cross-functional operating rhythms with Product, Design, Analytics Instrumentation, Data, Customer Success, Sales, and other Growth partners to enhance experiment execution and business outcomes.
• Champion the adoption of AI-native experimentation and workflows, proactively identifying innovative opportunities to leverage AI for accelerating user value delivery.
• Proven experience in managing product, growth, or development teams, with a history of building high-performing, values-aligned teams.
• Strong technical background and the capability to guide fullstack engineering efforts, architecture discussions, and pragmatic delivery in a product-focused environment.
• Experience collaborating closely with Product, Design, and Data to achieve measurable outcomes through iteration, experimentation, and continuous improvement.
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration abilities, particularly in settings where work spans multiple product areas and stakeholder groups.
• Comfort in a data-informed environment, including prioritizing opportunities, assessing experiment results, and assisting teams in making clear, evidence-based decisions.
• Capacity to delve into complex technical and product issues and translate them into clear, actionable language for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience managing remote, globally distributed teams and functioning effectively in an all-remote, asynchronous work environment.
• Familiarity with developer tools and product-led growth, along with the ability to embody GitLab’s values while contributing to an inclusive, high-performing culture.
• A demonstrated aptitude for challenging the status quo and creatively using AI-driven tools to tackle complex product challenges.
