This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +2 more states.
• Oversee the Growth 1 and Growth 2 engineering teams in alignment with a unified growth mission and roadmap.
• Serve as a strategic partner to Product, Design, Data, and Engineering Leadership, actively spotting technical opportunities, prioritizing work for maximum impact, and influencing roadmap priorities using insights from engineering and experimentation.
• Enhance engineering execution by proactively identifying dependencies, alleviating bottlenecks, efficiently sequencing tasks, and ensuring teams deliver value with urgency and focus.
• Support teams in implementing structured experimentation initiatives that boost activation, adoption, conversion, engagement, or retention.
• Elevate engineering standards by mentoring engineers on code quality, testing methodologies, observability, experimentation practices, and product-focused engineering while enabling teams to deploy quickly and confidently.
• Convert experiment findings, usage metrics, and customer insights into engineering priorities and recommendations for the roadmap.
• Initially manage around 7 direct reports, with the potential to expand to 8 engineers as the teams grow. Mentor and develop engineers into outstanding growth engineers characterized by strong product intuition, analytical skills, experimentation rigor, and a profound sense of ownership.
• Support and guide engineers through consistent 1:1 meetings, constructive feedback, coaching, and performance discussions.
• Cultivate a high-performing, accountable engineering culture where engineers feel empowered to address customer challenges, question assumptions, and continuously enhance team operations. Clearly communicate progress, risks, insights, and trade-offs to stakeholders.
• Attract, hire, and retain exceptional engineering talent that elevates the technical, analytical, and collaborative standards across the Growth organization.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience leading engineering teams as an Engineering Manager or technical people leader.
• Proven track record in leading engineering organizations centered around product-led growth, experimentation, onboarding, activation, adoption, engagement, retention, monetization, or conversion optimization.
• Extensive experience in designing and managing experimentation programs, including A/B testing, guardrail metrics, statistical significance, experiment analysis, and applying insights to product strategy.
• Practical knowledge of analytics and event-data tools such as Snowflake, Segment, Growthbooks, or comparable platforms.
• Experience in coaching engineers on experimentation, engineering quality, execution speed, and long-term sustainability.
• Ability to collaborate closely with Product, Design, Data, and Analytics as a strategic thought partner rather than merely an execution partner.
• Experience in managing SaaS web application engineering teams; proficiency in Ruby on Rails and React is preferred.
• Strong history of developing engineers, establishing clear expectations, and assisting teams in achieving measurable results.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
