Engineering Manager – Developer Experience

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• You utilize AI-assisted coding tools on a daily basis.

• Take ownership of the golden path: Develop and sustain deployment templates and established CI/CD patterns leveraging our Kubernetes cluster APIs.

• Manage developer satisfaction as a key metric: Monitor the adoption rate of the golden path, deployment lead time, and the time-to-first-deploy for new services.

• Standardize AI-assisted development tools: Lead the initiative to create an AI harness that ensures consistent use of assisted development tools throughout the organization.

• Build the team from the ground up: Oversee hiring processes, cultivate company culture, and establish the technical standards from the very first hire.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of software development experience with Python, including at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.

• Experience with Go is highly desirable.

• Practical experience in constructing CI/CD systems, internal developer portals, or golden paths, with sufficient codebase insight to remain effective.

• Extensive knowledge of Kubernetes-based platforms, including cluster APIs, namespaces, RBAC, admission control, and deployment patterns, enabling informed decision-making.

• A product-oriented mindset for internal tools.

• Proven experience in hiring engineers, including at least one hire that has imparted valuable lessons.

• Security-first thinking that is reflected in design choices, not merely in terminology.

• Experience in fintech or regulated environments is a significant advantage.

• Proficiency in English is required.
