Engineering Manager, Data Platform – ML Ops

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead and mentor a team of 4-6 engineers focused on data platforms and ML operations.

• Take ownership of the reliability, scalability, and development of Fingerprint's internal data warehouse, which supports business analytics, product analytics, identification, and smart signals products.

• Manage the entire ML Ops lifecycle, encompassing experimentation, training pipelines, model deployment, and production monitoring.

• Provide technical leadership, work in collaboration with senior engineers, guide architectural decisions, and evaluate complex technical proposals.

• Partner with data scientists, product managers, data analysts, and engineering leads to transform data and ML investments into quantifiable product outcomes.

• Mentor and support engineers in their professional growth while fostering a culture of continuous learning.

• Define and advance platform standards, tools, and best practices across data platforms and ML Ops.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in leading data engineering, ML engineering, or platform teams within an agile framework.

• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in data engineering, ML engineering, or related software engineering roles, especially in a SaaS environment.

• Practical experience with both data infrastructure and ML systems.

• Strong technical expertise in data infrastructure and ML systems.

• Experience managing engineers across various technical domains.

• Demonstrated ability to lead teams in delivering high-reliability data products with a focus on quality and user impact.

• Proven track record in driving change and innovation in dynamic, scaling environments.

• Preferred: experience leading teams in a startup or high-growth setting.

• Preferred: knowledge of ClickHouse, DataBricks, Snowflake, or BigQuery.

• Preferred: familiarity with ML lifecycle tools, including training pipelines, model serving, and production monitoring.

• Preferred: experience with AWS and cloud-based data and ML infrastructure.
