Engineering Manager, Data

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the platform that manages over 1 petabyte of intelligence products, accommodating batch processing and real-time, 24/7 API needs.

• Develop the next generation of foundational AI architecture for blockchain intelligence infrastructure.

• Achieve a tenfold enhancement in the efficiency and resource utilization of delivering new intelligence models and data products to clients.

• Lead and recruit for two sub-teams that encompass data infrastructure and product delivery, elevating the standards of technical quality and AI proficiency.

• Establish the technical roadmap for production systems, making informed decisions regarding architecture, tools, and platform investments.

• Create platforms that streamline the work of the data science team, enabling data scientists to quickly test and deploy intelligence data products.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of hands-on experience in data engineering, with at least 4 years in direct people management roles.

• A player-coach who remains engaged in the technical aspects—reviewing architecture, troubleshooting pipelines, and making system design choices—while also shaping team strategy.

• Must have experience managing production systems at scale, including customer-facing data products, APIs, or decision-making engines—not analytics or BI systems.

• Proficient in Python and SQL, with experience in BigQuery, Airflow, data lake architecture, and serving layers.

• Daily active user of AI tools to expedite development and challenge existing assumptions.

• Strong judgment; you will be making crucial decisions regarding the technological investments that shape TRM's platform.
